I know it's been discussed a bunch of times, but what's your favorite TIG glove.  I've used Tillman's for a while now.  Had purchased a 10 pack off eBay and one they're done.  Need to place an order.  Next question, I replaced the old headgear on my Jackson Hellraiser helmet with the new Jackson headgear that comes on the new Jackson Balder helmets.  What I have left of my hair is quite short, 1/4" max.  The headgear has an annoying way of grabbing onto a few hairs at a time and pulling at them when the helmet moves slightly.  Pretty much, after a few minutes of wearing the helmet, I start to get a headache because on the tension on my hair.  I have to remove and reposition.  So what do you all wear under your helmets?  I'm gonna do a baseball cap backwards, but I'm wondering who makes a thin cap that would work?TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:I use the dew rag I used to wear under my motorcycle helmet. They are cheap and you can find them at a lot of convenience stores.

Reply:Landry Caps, expensive, but will outlast your headgear, if not your hood, http://www.usabe.com/landry-cap-stripe.html
Reply:Tillman 750 series elkskin gloves. Thin on the finger but gauntlet style for hot work. When dirty hand wash and dry. Rotate 2 pairs, one for critical clean work, other for grungy work.Put some lambswool on your headgear. Reply:Tig gloves I wear cheap deer skin gloves from my local hardware store. Flexible and with excellent feel.Under my welding helmet I wear a standard welding hat. Not as cheap as a dew rag but cheap enough. My motorcycle dew rag is not 100% cotton so I would not like melting it to my head Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.

Reply:Grabbed 2 pair of 750 Tillman's from weld fabulous.  Not cheap at $28 a pair. Hopefully more durable than the 24CL's I wore out.  Three times the price.  Do rags dirt cheap at $3 shipped each.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:My jackson headgear does the same damn thing. Drives me crazy sometimes, but I'm too lazy to do anything about it lol Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk"I fully know my place in life, and it's behind a welding helmet...." - Jesse JamesIG: @weldakota
Reply:Since we're on the subject so I'm not hijacking the thread, I've been welding away for hours, not straight but doing alot of pipe repair, or more accurately, horse stall repair with MIG. I got tired of fumbling with big, heavy, Lincoln gloves so I switched to TIG gloves and I'm alot happier. I'm not burning through them or burning my hands but it makes me wonder why. Everyone else is Migging with heavy gloves and I'm not. Am I missing something?

Reply:Thanks Squirm. Now I don't feel so badly. You're right; compared to what you guys do, it's all small stuff and short stuff that's never tripped my 180's 30% DC.
Reply:I've been running the Tillmans for tig, and don't have any issues with them.  My hood's a SpeedGlas 9000 somethingorother.  I really like both, and will look into the weldporn gloves.-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup
Reply:The while tilman tig gloves suck nards due to a huge flaw in their design. Miller tig gloves are way better, last several times longer, and only cost a bit more.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
