I got a little too rambunctious with the FEL. It looks like maybe there was poor fusion and the weld popped loose between the cutting edges. My current plan is to:- Grind the old welds as best I can.- Clean everything good.- Force the bucket down on a log or some timbers to improve fitup.- Run a 6010 or 6011 root down both sides.- Cap with a few passes of 7018.Sound good?

Reply:Sounds like a plan to me using 7018. I've done a few loader buckets and the same place on yours I've added a piece of angle to reinforce it....Mike

Reply:Clean, bevel , and weld multiple passes 7018 sounds good started with stick now if I could get it inside the shop I would probably wire weld it . Just because wire is easier. Good luck I fixed a bucket like this cracked multiple places in the center worked ok until I quit using it. |
