lincoln 140hd not penetrating

Lincoln140 hd welds look good but it will not penetrate its just sitting on top  and when I break the welds apart it's all porosity underneath and now it won't feed on high power I would hate to take it in since they charge so much for service any help would be great

Reply:Get a 220 volt welder those 110 machines wont penetrate at all.Lincoln pro core 125 14''chop saw7 inch grinder,2-4.5 inch grinders,electric die grinder.Half inch drillAnd alot of hand tools
Reply:1/8 inch steel might with gas plenty of power I work in industrial and I brought it to work to see if it was a power issue it lays a good bead but just sits on top I use a miller 250 everyday at work and I never have a problem I'm just going to buy a bigger welder I've had the Lincoln for 7 years probably just worn out

Reply:Fan comes on it feeds fine on low setting when I turn it all the way up it quits feeding I've run the gas at every setting I could and it does look like a good weld it just isn't penetrating that is my question how is that possible
Reply:What is the base material?HAve you welded on this same piece of base material in the past?What is the surface condition of the base material?
Reply:New cold rolled steel welded it many times could it be I got a bad tank of gas I just got it
