Started on a new BBQ/Smoker Build (video)

Hey everyone!!So, this is what I've been up to lately, I'm starting in on a second BBQ/Smoker, this one is made from rusty (but CHEEEEAP) 1/8" steel sheet, and it gonna be bigger than the last one, 2 feet by 4 feet. Im guessing it'll be around 300 pounds when its all said and done...At first I thought it'd be cool to TIG it, but dropped that idea when I figured how long it would take to prepare over 100 feet of welding joint for tigging. So, then I started in with the partial roll of Hobart FCAW wire I had, and discovered that FCAW on thin steel with less than perfect fitup, well, isnt enjoyable. So, I drove across the border and came home with a 330cu ft tank of C25, and some Lincoln L-56 wire. I wish I'd done that years ago, that stuff is awesome!!These first two videos cover the builds of the two symmetrical main chamber halves, plus most of the fire box. I really hope everyone enjoys them, I'm loving this project so far. Just wanted to share, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. Reply:I really like the videos man. Your YouTube channel is the first I have ever subscribed to. Also I dig your workspace and purposed table. I weld in my garage also, on the ground most of the time. Keep up the good work on the videos. I checked out your webpage when you first announced it and got all excited but now it is super slow and not loading right on my computer.

Reply:Yeah, like using the plasma cutter for the pilot hole. Thats actually an awesome idea!! It cant be good for consumable life with the blowback and all, but 45 amps through 1/8" cant take more than a fraction of a second anyway. Ill keep that in mind!!Coming soon... Reply:Nice job with the videos Lance. Two words for ya man "Drill Doctor". You were making me tired drilling those holes. Looks like you got a pretty cool shop going. I know what its like living a distance from suppliers. Having less than razor sharp bits drives me nuts also. Once you have one you won't know how you lived without it. Keep up the vids buddy.
