I'm at the Wisconsin/ Illinois State line. Searching Craig's list saw a posting for cylinders and welding equipment. Gave them a call for more info. They are a ma/pa place in Greenfield Wisconsin called Advanced Welding and supply. Went there today to exchange a 150 OWNED Argon tank with current test date. No issues at all. They even checked with gage to verify full tank. I picked up a roll of SS .023 wire too. I got a price on a Miller 140 and it was cheaper then online. I found my welding supplier. There number is 414-281-9502 and I talked with ''CHRIS''. Here's their posting. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/tld/4246934030.html I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM AND '' NOT RELATED''. I know there can be some issues with a tank exchange. There purchase price on tanks were fair too. My other supplier charged me a paint charge for tank exchange that did not match there colors . It was the company policy.
Reply:Prices in their CL add are about $30 higher than I have listed in my flyer from my local place, pretty much across the board. They list $90 for an MC acetylene for example, my place sells them full for around $60. Same went with just about all the sizes I could match they had listed that were in my flyer. Flyer is a bit older from mid summer, but I doubt my place jumped their prices that much. They are usually pretty constant when I get a new flyer..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:DSW, your prices are really ''LOW ". Location makes a huge difference ! This place is lower then most. Local AIR GAS is off the charts.
Reply:$215 for a 125 of OXYGEN exchange seems high?I bought got an exchange this past summer from my supplier for around $50?

Reply:No its not bought, its "Gas" exchange rate.I thought I read the Advance site AD twice to see if it was buy or exchange price?Just didn't seem clear.....
Reply:Yea, the site wasn't too clear. Those prices are for buying a owner tank with gas. Prices on tanks buying or exchanges are all over the charts.Buddy told me where he USED to go was even adding on a hazmat charge . You must shop wisely today.
Reply:Those prices seem higher than terrace supply where I get my large tank. And I have a few smaller tankschicago.craigslist.org/nwc/tld/4228793295.htmlTorchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Location is the key factor. My LWS beats me over the head when it comes to filling a cylinder and that's with a union discount. But anything else they smoke internet prices for me. I think Terry or BC said they get 330's of argon filled for 38bucks in California. I pay that for a 80!!!I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Reply:Advanced Welding, the place I posted did my 100% argon 150 for $45.00. That's the best price within a hour of me. No extra charges either. It's interesting how the prices vary and what they wanna tack on for extra costs. |
