I want to get an air cooled tig torch for my Dialarc. I need to know for sure if this set up is all I'll need. I checked the LWS for same set up and price was way over. Also, do you prefer the flex head and/or valve features? I've used the valve models before but the Dialarc has a gas solenoid so shouldn't be needed?Appreciate any help. Here's the link to the ebay listing for the standard torch. Flex and valve also available for a only a few bucks more.http://www.ebay.com/itm/320760378141...84.m1423.l2649AlA man is judged by what's between his legs...always ride a good horseMiller DialArc HFLincoln Classic 300DThermal Arc 181iPowermax 45Scotchman Ironworker(2) BridgeportsOkomota Surface GrinderAutoCAD 2010
Reply:I don't know much about the "dialarc", but if it already has a solenoid, I quess you dont need a gas valve, I have heard some of the flex head torch's can be sort of a problem for a "walking the cup", I bought my "Masterweld WP20" from a company called "YOUWELD" they have very reasonable prices and the torch appears to be well made, and it's made in the US.Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st
Reply:Go back to the lws and say give me a deal or ill go elsewhere....Get to know those people the best ya can lol it shouldnt cost more then 40$ for a 25 foot air cooled 17 series torch.I forgot how to change this.
Reply:After checking the Ebay ad a little better I discovered those are not Weldcraft brand. Searched more and the price for a Weldcraft there is quite a bit higher. Weldfabulous.com seems to have the best price so far. Even though I prefer to do business with the LWS they just can't or won't match on some things. Of course when I went in to check the Weldcraft I walked out with a new pair of gloves and couple boxes of rod. At least they got a few bucks.AlA man is judged by what's between his legs...always ride a good horseMiller DialArc HFLincoln Classic 300DThermal Arc 181iPowermax 45Scotchman Ironworker(2) BridgeportsOkomota Surface GrinderAutoCAD 2010
Reply:i get flex CK torches from arc-zone.com . good quality. you shouldnt wear out a torch very quickly so if it is a little more then it is close to not noticeable over the torch lifespan. on the flex head. I dont walk the cup much, but i twist the head a lot to suit the position im welding.and dont use a valve unless you have to its just something to go wrong. (or forget about)G
Reply:I would get a quality Flex head. that way you can find an optimum position that is comfortable for you to hold the torch then just move the head to the right travel angle etc.Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Appreciate all the help guys,I ordered a http://www.weldfabulous.com/Shop/Con...66793/vpcsid/0. $104.52 to the door. I've got all the collets, nozzles, etc. so wasn't worried about that. I've used the Radnor brand equipment before and had good luck with it also. Just got to the point of tired of searching and dropped the coins on the Weldcraft. Be here soon I hope. Been looonnngg time since I did any tigging.AlA man is judged by what's between his legs...always ride a good horseMiller DialArc HFLincoln Classic 300DThermal Arc 181iPowermax 45Scotchman Ironworker(2) BridgeportsOkomota Surface GrinderAutoCAD 2010

Reply:tell em your local praxair is way cheaper but u really dont like dealing with them and would rather buy it from airgas lol , i got a different local welding supply tryin to earn my business back rite now and there not doing so good, ive been pretty partial to who ive been dealing with. but all in all it comes down to the $ and the service.I forgot how to change this.
Reply:They don't do the price match regardless of if it's local or internet. So it's easier for me to order online and if it's in So Cal it gets here in about a day. IOC takes 3-4 days. |
