Engine-Driven Fume Removal

Came across this picture really interested in getting something like this to vent out fumes. Its hard to find any type of ducting that can securely mount/clamp over the exhaust thats the right diameter and can withstand the exhaust temperatures. Can somebody point me in the right direction of where I could buy something like what is pictured. Thanks

Reply:Whatever you end up deciding, you ought to read the thread below to make sure you fully understand all the details of Carbon Monoxide poisoning.If the area you plan to station the welder in will be "closed in", you will also need to furnish some type of make up air source that replenishes the air to the work site where the welder will be running. Ideally the make up air should be sourced from a point/area that is far away from the point/area where the exhaust will finally be discharged to.  ANY leakage of exhaust from your added piping set up back into the work area will defeat the intent of what you are trying to do.  Unless you can have the system sealed to almost perfection, and also have a make up air source, you are creating a false sense of safety.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...t-outside-shopLast edited by walkerweld; 01-06-2014 at 12:32 PM.

Reply:if all else fails i wounder what the viability of using one of the commercially available CO detectors available from the hardware store while running the LP engine drive?Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
