Good way to record me welding?

We have all seen the videos from weldingtipsandtrick.com how does he get the camera so close to his welds? I have a flip camera and I bought a #10 lens for $2 from sears that was closing. Reply:Tape the lens over the camera lens, and make sure no random light gets through around where the lens and camera meet. Also keep in mind that your flip camera has no macro mode, meaning that anything closer than like 16" away will be really blurry. I think you might want to get another camera, as anything 16" away will look dim and too small to see on the computor. Flips can focus REALLY well however (at anything other than close range), and this will be a plus. Just practice until it works.
