running new inverter off generator

What problems can surface when using some of the newer inverter welders running off a generator? I currently have an HTP Invertig 201, and a Miller Maxstar inverter machines, and am considering the possibility of doing some mobile work with them. Thanks

Reply:Newer inverters that run on multiple line voltages, like the Miller Maxstar and Dynasty usually work fine but older machines, including all but the newest model of the Invertig, can have problems, especially with cheaper generators which make a distorted AC waveform.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
