Looking for someone in Lincoln with a pipe bender to make 12 bends @ a fairly tight 90* in 1" Sch. 40.Got some places to call tomorrow, but wanted to see if anyone else knew of a place that would do it.
Reply:Do you have a harbor freight near you ? I have their 16 ton pipe bender and it works great. It's for schedule 40 pipe not tube. Bought it cheap and paid for it self in no time. http://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton-...der-32888.html $ 99.99http://www.harborfreight.com/16-ton-...der-35336.html $ 169.99
Reply:Yeah, I was hoping to avoid that route though. It's for a customer so $50 bucks wouldn't be a big deal to pay to have it done.
Reply:You could buy some welded sch 40 elbows and weld them in instead of bending.---Meltedmetal
Reply:If you use a 25% off coupon it'll cost you $75.00 bucks for the bender . At $50 to have it done for around $ 25 more you own the bender.

Reply:nearly any place that does exhaust systems for cars and trucks should have a bender, most electricians should have some type of bender that may work.
Reply:Went ahead and bought the HF one. Worked GREAT!
Reply:See, was that soooooooooooooooooooooooo bad ? Now you have a new toy to play with . I think it will come in handy. Not bad for a Hf tool.

Reply:Well, you could always return it too . I think the dies/shoes are worth the price.

Reply:I can't believe how many times I used it. Made many handles with 3/4 '' pipe. There's is a u tube video where a guy mounted it to a engine stand. Looks like a good idea. Have fun !!!!

Reply:Square dies would be easy enough to make . You can do a pretty good job bending flatbar with the pipe dies by using a die that is narrow enough to support the flatbar.Miller xmt304, Miller S22 p12, Miier Maxstar SD, Miller 252 w 30A, Miller super32p12, Lincoln Ranger 9, Thermal Arc 181I with spoolgun, Hypertherm 10000 ,Smith torches.
