I just traded a 1969 cub Cadet in fair, running condition for this Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC. It came with a cabinet, two 25' leads and one 25' ground lead. Also a Tig setup with hose and regulator. Oh, and a mask, gloves, some rods and three vise grips. Attached Images
Reply:Should be a step up from my Campbell Housefeld 70amp.

Reply:I live in forrest and we have goats. Lawns aren't a problem around here.I am happy with the trade. Now I need to run 240 to the garage. I already have the panel. 100' of wire and I will finally be able to work on those trailers, fix the brush hog, fix the green house, fix the wheelbarrow.......
Reply:A tig torch(Weldcraft HP 17), hose and gauges came with this welder. I have never seen this type. It the brass connection for the power and the hose then lined to transfer power to the tip? Attached Images
Reply:Yes, the TIG torch hose also contains the power cable. Just clamp the electrode stinger to the power block in photo 2 and make sure the machine is set up for DCEN. Unit will be scratch start and DC only without a HF (High Frequency) unit.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:So I opened the welder up and found the plastic fan had broken off and was setting aside. So I glued it back on. I then wired the garage for 240v. Tested the outlet and plugged in the welder. Nothing...No fan...No noise. So I hooked up the leads and tried it out. Nothing..I rechecked the outlet. It's fine.I will start by checking the terminals at the switch. What is there to check after that?Should the fan come on when the switch comes on?
Reply:When I opened it up I blew it out with air and greased where the manual said too.
Reply:I opened the welder and found only one leg had power. Checked the welders plug and some one had replaced the end and wired white, black and green. The red was not connected at the plug. The white is not connected at the welder. It works now. I was worried there for a minute.
Reply:Good job. You'd be surprised how many times a plug, machine or outlet gets wired wrong resulting in a "dead" machine.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base! |
