This is nothing most of you have seen before but this time I could weld the side stiffeners any way I chose..So to give the "Kid" a lesson on staggered welds I did the 1 inch weld...1 inch space...1 inch weld routine..Look at the bottom plate..Note the spacing from side to side..Now after grinding the burrs MUST GO!!!All you need is a file..Outside welds..Inside welds..Note how they are staggered also..Next post.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Haven't seen the second post yet, but thats okay. VERY well done, as always. You're the man, Zap [Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. See you on YouTube! -ChuckE2009
Reply:When doing this you weld the inside where there is NO weld on the outside..Can get confusing at first but this is called out on prints on occasion so this was a good opportunity to do some teaching..Side welds..There can NOT be any welds on the outer end because something has to fit inside against the big plate..The spots you see are just tacks with no filler for my starting point..And it has to be SQUARE with the base plate..One last pic..I don't know what they do or what they fit but working from a pencil print was all I had to go by..Bottom plate and the sides are 1/2" thick..The other plate is 1" thick..Welder on "Kill"..1/16" 70S-2..3/32" Red..I get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Nice work Zap.I almost always have to lay out big X's when doing staggered welds, for "Dont weld here and f*** up the piece dumbass !"If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck is empty."-Grandad circa 1990ish
Reply:I have to ask... Why was it required, in this case, to stagger the welds? I'm an overly anal visual person...In that I like symmetry! Either way it looks great!Last edited by mb_welder; 06-29-2012 at 07:47 AM.
Reply:yeah I like symmetry too, understand staggering the welds from the inside to outside but i would have kept the inside symmetrical.
