underwater torch?

was at the welding store, and someone with this came in to look for parts for it.... turns out, parts were no longer available.  so the owner just left this torch.  naturally, I gave it a good home.  its hung up on my garage wall  Attached Images
Reply:Pretty neat. I'd have nabbed it also. I wonder if parts really are unavailable, or if the LWS place simply either didn't want to be bothered with the hassle of hunting them down, or had a clue where to look. I haven't seen OAdoctor around for a bit, but I'd be curious about his take on this myself.Depending on what type of work they used it for, it's most likely set up to run propane as you can't use acetylene below like15 or 20 feet IIRC due to pressure issues with acet. The 4th line is for compressed air to create a "shield" around the cutting head.I know we had a oxyfuel torch when I worked for the commercial dive company, but almost all our underwater cutting was done with an exothermic torch rather than with Oxy fuel. The exothermic torch rods were more expensive, but was simpler to set up and run, more versitile and cut a wider range of materials..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Haven't seen the OA doctor online lately but I saw him at his shop a few weeks ago.  They build and repair custom cutting torches for their customers so I would be surprised if they haven't seen one of these.
Reply:I think I just might have to suit up and take some diving lessons just to try this torch out I know the LWS guy pretty well, he's tried a bunch of suppliers and just can't find the part the customer was looking for.
