Another Welding Bench

Hey guys i thought i show you my welding bench im working onThese benches used to be really long till i had a friend cut them down for me and mig them back up to 2 smaller ones.2 BenchesThen i decided to keep the best one and sell the other so i got it put up on top of the other one so i could give it a quick grind and hit it with kill rust paintPainted
Reply:Also bought a mild steel sheet for the topSo plan is to cut down the mild steel sheet and leave roughly a 50mm over hang so i have  some clamping room as wellWill post more pics tommoro
Reply:It'll be okay for a very, very light duty table.  Top is way to thin for anything except very light clamping and no hammer work.

Reply:Not bad, but you might want to go back to the drawing board.I would change the way you mounted some of the angle on the bottom spanners - put the angle iron flat against flat and you get more strength, or place it inside the lower frame.Also, it looks like you could spend a little more time jigging up your corners. Definatly going to have a strain put on them if you put a lot of weight on the table.I break things for a living...
Reply:lol i bought them both like this, was a easy solution then doing one up my self which i will probally do one daylol my work isnt that shocking or messy at all, they were cheap enough lol

Reply:I have decided to put a 12 mm ply sheet on to this table instead and will instead use the sheet steel i have cut for this table i will build a new table.reason why i am doing this is the top of this table is not dead flat so it will just be easier to build a newywill finish this one off once i got the ply wood cut for itcheers
