I recently got a new torch setup. I picked up a smith versa set. I've been having trouble getting the cutting attachment to go into the torch body.Torch is an AW1A. There's a drop of solder that in on the inside of the female threads. Anyone else have this torch? Does this look like yours? I've shot smith an email about it, I don't expect to hear from them till monday or tuesday though. I really like everything about it. It's just been tough to get the attachments on the torch. I may just not be used to the way it goes together yet though. And I'm not even sure the male threads on the attachment reach down far enough to come in contact with the bead. Attached Images

Reply:The cutting head seals to the body with o-rings on the smooth bore beyond the threads. It usually takes a little twist to get them to go together, especially when new. Then, like you said, it's a matter of whether the threads tighten up fully. Remember, that joint is just hand tight, no wrenching needed. But, Smith has a lifetime warrany, so if something isn't working right, they'll replace it.
Reply:I second the minor "factory defect". Since it's new I'd send it in, otherwise I'd pick it out with a ninety-degree-end scriber pick.
