Well, the cutting is done, and it's time to get my junkyard dawg outta the pool, and ON THE ROAD  (had to pry his little paws off the edge of the pool)Chained it up, and headed out........................Cool place, lots going on.  Little Japanese cars going off to become...................More little Japanese cars.Anyhow, pulled onto the scale, and the gal came out with a geiger counter  , and proceeded to check for Plutonium I guess Backed in (over 20 tons of nails and other sharp thingies) to the crane.  Nice big magnet.Did a dandy job of unloading the stuff.  Even pulled the fillings out of my teeth The load scaled out at 2800lbs.  Not too bad I guess.  Short iron is going for $180/ton.  Twas higher a while back though."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Good friend is lead mechanic at a big recycling center, they buy scrap, shred it and send it out by rail.  Pretty big operation. He tells me you can't imagine how many worn out trucks come in and want them to unload them with the mag and when they do the bed sucks up off the truck from the mounts being rotted off.
