I have a guy who wants an archway for over the end of his driveway. looking at having brick columns 12-14ft high on each side, 12 ft between and then a metal arch over it. He wants his last name and fancy scroll stuff on it. has anyone done anything like this? I have built gates and fence but nothing this big. would like to see some pictures to get some inspiration. he wants the arch to be 2 ft wide not just a flat panelthanks for any help
Reply:Sounds like fun. Are there power lines or other loigistical concerns in the immediate area.
Reply:I built one over the entrance to a grave yard once. It was 20 ft long and arched from 12 ft at the pilasters to 16 ft in the center. Lots of fun. Mac
Reply:no powerlines or anything like that thank goodness. I was thinking 2x2x.187 wall tube bent to an 2 ft arc for the main structure. Tool Maker do you have a picture of what you built?
