Made a reducer flange. When I first started making them I didn't use filler but recently I started to use filler because I think it looks better. In case anyone ever has to make one of these, I would suggest using filler. Started out with a 5" stamped flange. Machined a 5" OD x 4" ID reducer ring. Pressed it in and welded her up. syncrowave 180SD, 120A. 1/16 thoriated. Miller Dynasty 200Millermatic 211Instagram?.... find me @ WELD_MEDIC
Reply:Very good looking work.
Reply:Thanks.Looking at it I guess I could have beveled the inner ring that way the exhaust isn't hitting such a flat surface. Might have to try it....Miller Dynasty 200Millermatic 211Instagram?.... find me @ WELD_MEDIC

Reply:tig_21  -  You've been building these for a while; when are going to get a rotary?  It looks like you have genuine use for one, especially because you are turning your own parts.    OPUS
Reply:Ya post a pic w/o filler.I'd think it would look alot better without filler. Don't press the thick donut in the tubing all the way, leave it sticking out the thickness of the tubing wall,  then hit this corner with pulsed TIG and you wouldn't have any weld sticking up above the flat surface of the donut piece, just a nice consistent rounded corner weld. What's it for anyway?Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:yeah I've used a rotary before but I'de rather free hand welding unless I'm doing big jobs in that case where it would come in handy. What I build is all custom hand built parts.I will try to get a pic up of one without filler. They look good done either way it just depends on how I feel that day.... mikegyver: Flanges are bolted to the back of the 2 turbos as seen in the pics. The kit is a triple turbo kit with 2 s480's and a gtx-45. Enjoy!Miller Dynasty 200Millermatic 211Instagram?.... find me @ WELD_MEDIC
Reply:Cause 2 just isnt enough air!! Is that a Dmax I see under there. Should be able to keep the EGT's down with those

Reply:Or you could have done it the millwright way... Stack threaded reducer upon reducer upon reducer until 6" becomes 2!"
Reply:yeah its a dmax but strictly race. I'm thinking it will make about 140lbs of boost at peak. Basically we need 3 turbos because they don't make a turbo big enough to make the horsepower and torque with 2 if that makes sense....Also, garrett turbo is ball bearing and it should spool fast with hardly any lag.Miller Dynasty 200Millermatic 211Instagram?.... find me @ WELD_MEDIC
Reply:Freaking wow.  So you are saying that (2) 114mm wouldnt make the power?  (2) billet wheeled pro-mod 94's are goodo to around 3k, and (2) billet 114's are good to around 5K.  Is it that the compound setup works better for what you are doing?  How many RPMs will this thing spin?  Its hard for me to wrap my mind around 140 lbs of boost and the fuel consumption, power curve, etc.Lots of toys.
