Reply:An unloaded handgun being used as a paperweight is perfectly fine in a private business as far as I'm concerned and I think the law might agree with me, As an owner of a private company, your office is not a public space, and even if it were public, many states are open carry. You would have an easier time with a gun than the knuckles in most situations involving law enforcement.

Reply:Originally Posted by roadkillbobbyou are correct with the gun part, if your state allows you possession of it without a permit, then you can make or call it whatever you want..now if you made a gun..well im sure the atf would be knocking at your door..lol

Reply:Here's what I think about with the knucks or a knife. I have had a handgun permit for years. I carry when I want, usually when I'm out with my wife and when my sons were younger, now not so much as my sons are pretty large and unless you have a gun most muggers wouldn't want any part of the 3 of us. LOL. Anyway, If I were to be caught with what I would call a pocket knife, like a buck knife or in possesion of knuckles , odds are they would pull my Pistol permit, ( they just need and excuse you know) Plus it's pretty foolish to carry a knife or other improvised weapon when you have a pistol permit. Problem is my permit is only good to the Ct State line, can't go to other states so it is nice to have a little something, but at the same time a risk."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251 Syncrowave 300 30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200 1 short hood SA250 SAM 400

Reply:its a fun little art piece, I made one on the waterjet as my handle on my welding cart (I have pics of it on here somewhere). sad that something like that could be called illegal!
Reply:Man I'm glad I'm in Arizona. I would have been locked up and had the key thrown away many years ago. I have had countless interactions with police. Many times while carrying a knife, gun, whatever. I have been stopped just so they could ask me about said item to get my opinion on it, as they wanted one. I was involved in an accident (nothing major got rear ended at a stoplight) the guy that hit me, was really shocked, when I stepped out of my truck with a full size pistol on my hip. He was slightly scared. His door was jammed shut, and he could not get out. I made sure GE was ok, and helped him open the door. Was polite, even though I really wanted to beat the snot out of him for wrecking my truck (I had $1000's in it and it was my baby)The cops arrived, and I explained to them I had the gun, before they saw it. He jokingly asked "your not going to shoot me with it, right?" I laughed and said "nope, your buddy just pulled up," motioning in his direction "and I don't wanna get shot." he said "good that makes two of us." and he went about his duties for the accident. Before he left, he came over and complimented me. He explained that the other driver was first in fear of getting shot until I was polite and friendly. And the cop even told me that he wished more people like me carried guns to calm the nerves of people like the other driver. I really believe I may have changed the other drivers opinion of gun owners and that we are not bad people. The comment about an empty gun as a paperweight, could not be more true. That's all an empty gun is. In az I could "legally" (just not by work policy) use a loaded handgun as a paperweight, self defense tool. And no one would think twice about it. Once I finally open up my own storefront, there will be a sign encouraging gun owners to carry holstered firearms in my place of business. There will also be a notice that anyone defending my place of business aginst armed robbery, will not be prosecuted by me for any damages. The more it's known that my place of business is protected by armed employees and customers, the less likely anyone will attempt to cause harm to myself or any customer. Those that say, your alienating the gun hating public. Well in az there are enough guns for every man woman and child to own several. Last I was told the average gun owner in az owns 8-10 firearms. I'm not worried about alienating the public. If your scared of guns stop by, we will protect you the same while at the shop, should the need arise.Offering CNC Plasma cutting and welding projects.Follow me on facebook https://www.facebook.com/nobigdeal.fabSupport those that support WW. |
