I am really paranoid about how I am ending my wleds can somebody post pictures on what then end of a stick weld is supposed to loook like? Quality is our policy.
Reply:Hello eagleman193, I know that you asked about pictures but allow me to make a few verbal suggestions. If you are using a rod such as E6010 consider breaking the arc and then quickly coming back to the crater and striking and filling it again briefly before breaking the arc again, might need to repeat this process more than once or twice to properly fill. If you are using a rod such as E7018, when you reach the end quickly back up onto the previous surface of the bead before ending or breaking the arc. Another possible better answer would be to weld in the opposite direction from the end where you originally planned on ending the bead and then starting your bead on the other end of the joint and terminating the weld when you reach the crater from the short weld that you made on the other end. Just a few suggestions. Regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Thank you so much! I have been coming back and filling it in but i didnt know if that was normal. I will post pictures of how they look now.Quality is our policy.
