My 200 started popping while I was welding. It's every second or so. This causes a problem when welding vertical. The pop is strong enough that it causes the puddle to run into the nozzel. It doesn't matter the speed of the wire or the voltage setting.

Reply:Ground is good, tip can be replaced, but how could the polarity change from one day to the next? Question is coming from ignorance.
Reply:Does the wire seem to feed consistently when not welding? Ever replaced the liner? Any chance wire corrosion could be causing feed issues?Sent from my SPH-L900 using TapatalkMultimatic 200Ellis 1800Haberle S225 9" cold sawMM 300; Spoolmate 30A w/ WC-24TB 302GDynasty 280 DX Tigrunner
Reply:Seems like a gas issue or some type of connection check all your connection for power and any seals for the Shielding gas
Reply:Mine did a similar thing. It was CR1, the main relay that energized the contactor and drive motor. If you take the wrapper off, it's on the left side of the machine as viewed from the rear. At the top and slightly to the right of the vertical center. If you have the older type, as I did, it will be an open design. You should be able to see the contacts touch when you pull the trigger. See if a friend can look at it while you weld and see if it arcs when the problem occurs. The contact points wear out. I cleaned and squared mine with emery and all was good. If you have the closed design, you can try to open it and just clean things up. While you're at it, check the capacitors as well for bulging and leaks. There's very little that goes wrong with that machine. Here's my old thread. http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...ighlight=Mm200Last edited by Drf255; 03-04-2014 at 05:16 AM.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum |
