Hi, I have just found an older Dan-Mig Auto-Mig 200 that was made by Migatronic of Denmark. I have a copy of a manual for the welder but nothing on the torch. The guy I got it from was not very good at figuring out how to put things back together and I want to make sure the torch is assembled properly. Also does anyone have info on stateside sources for Migatronic parts or will I have to order them from Europe? ( ouch ) The torch head seems to be compatible with Tweco #1 wear parts but the swan neck was twisted at an odd angle. I opened it up to see if it could be adjusted and it does not look like its assembled correctly. The torch is in pretty good shape and has speed adjustment on it so I would hate to toss it without trying to set it up correctly. Any ideas would be great. I will try to take and post a couple photos of the guts if I can figure out how to get them from my phone, resized and posted here.
Reply:Ok I was able to take a few photos and will try to explain what is concerning me about how the torch is put together.1st photo shows how it was when I opened it to try and align the swan neck to the body of the torch. There is a large gap between the swan neck protective sleeve and the round brass bushing and a gap between the bushing and the jam nut. Also there is an O ring between them that does not seal anything but if it is for cushioning the hose assembly from the body, there is no clear formed area in the body that would seem to be where it should ride. The area where the Green alignment block and jamb nut sit is shaped for them but the area just in front of the jamb nut is an irregular shaped area that does not match up with the o ring or the round brass bushing. The irregular area doesn't seem to be a clamping area to secure the bottom of the swan neck ether. I do not know if the parts are in the correct order or if they are even in the right spots. There is a brass hex threaded spacer riding inside the green alignment block that is jammed up against the threaded end of the hose assembly. The alignment block has a hex hole in it and it slides over the hex threaded spacer. This next photo shows the irregular area directly above the lower screw hole midway along the bottom edge of the body.Last photo is how I think it is all supposed to be. I threaded the swan neck all the way into the hex spacer to take up the slack at the end of the swan neck protective sleeve ans that tightens up the brass bushing o ring and jamb nut. final adjustment to align the swan neck to the body puts things in a straight line.is the only thing that keeps the bushing from pushing up on the protective sleeve and causing everything to get loose again, that short sleeve over the protective sleeve? it looks like it might get clamped by the very end of the body where the swan neck leaves the torch body.I am still waiting to hear back from Migatronic in Denmark. until then, I am not even sure what series or model torch this is. Here is what it looks like over all.Sorry for the long post. Let me know if you have ideas .
