Heres a few pics and video of my car. Everything up until this point was un proven so I was trying to take it easy. Car performed much better than I expected. I need more rear spring rate and a different rear diff (spool wasn't working with my 3 link). Not bad for a 5 year project and never really driving it, and just setting it all up in my garage though..[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfI_mZiIpTw&feature=colike[/ame] Attached ImagesHTP Invertig 201Lincoln Idealarc SP250Miller 180 AC StickBy farmall:They should have held the seagull closer to the work, squeezing evenly for best deposition.

Reply:Love it.  I like how it looks in its current state too.  Please post up some build pics, I gotta see whats under the hood
Reply:Nice!   I gotta get mine done.. I miss driving it.www.thefusionsolution.com
Reply:I love how it looks, all raw and stuff. Totally my style, not really "pretty" but it works. Motor is a "well built" 289. Makes good power, nothing has really been tuned, motor suspension, anything. Its how I built it and I havent started refining it. I cant get over how well things went, I was expecting disaster haha.Cant find many pics but heres what I have. In various stages, I finally have gotten the interior and everything "cleaned" up. Looks pretty hacked in some of these pictures.. Like ive said before, I have learned a lot.. And look at things differently. I had too much of a "dont give a sh!$" attitude, but thats probly part of being a teenager lol. Last pic is my latest in the works  Attached ImagesHTP Invertig 201Lincoln Idealarc SP250Miller 180 AC StickBy farmall:They should have held the seagull closer to the work, squeezing evenly for best deposition.
Reply:Heres a bit of the rear suspension. Cant see much of the 3 link.. rear links are 1.125 x .156" 7075 links, .750 x .500 rod end.Axle is a 9" grand national full floater.. Need to run a diamon trac diff in it, a bit more gear ratio. And maybe throw some gun drilled axles in there.. Just ordered 250# spring for the rear Attached ImagesHTP Invertig 201Lincoln Idealarc SP250Miller 180 AC StickBy farmall:They should have held the seagull closer to the work, squeezing evenly for best deposition.
Reply:Awesome.Nothing like a screaming smallblock..One suggestion..Paint it....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:My wife was walking by when I was listening to the car for the 10th time, she laughed and said I was like a little kid. It does sound nice.Dave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:Definitely need more rear gear, maybe even another gear in the trans to get the motor to spool up faster. What's your RPM at the end of the straight & what's your RPM coming out of a turn in 2nd gear?  That will indicate where you need the gear.Power on that little 289 will top out about 7600 with a solid roller (unless the rules won't allow it, then 7200 with solid lifters)  You need to keep your revs in the power band between (5000 & 7200 rpm). The ride along was awesome.  I could see where you needed another gear to grab in several places.  Like Zap said "ain't nuthin better than a tightly wound small block".  Unless it's a tightly wound big block.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
Reply:Awesome... Don't paint it....
Reply:Nice,i like the way it is,looks sick bro, good job!
Reply:Well I wasn't running the car too hard. And I was short shifting it too. I make power up till about 7500. I have 4.22 but am trying to go to 4.44's. I was 2 db over sound so I was going easy. Also this was just my shake down run haha  i wasnt trying to get all the speed out of her  i thinkni was hitting 6500 at the straight. I was lifting pretty early though. Wasn't trying to huck te car through turn 1. Wait till I take it out next time and fix some things. I'm Gunna give er hell. Reply:Nice! Some satin black paint and she'll be looking good. I wish there was a track around here to have some fun on without having to leave the state or cross the boarder.
Reply:Must...resist....buying...Mustang...I've wanted a 67-68 Mustang since I was 13, real bad.  Seeing your build has me searching craigslist for a project.  Damn you.Is yours a 65 or 66?

Reply:Mine is a 66. I fit 7.00 - 15 and 8.00 - 15s. If your familiar with those tires they are very big foir a mustang.. 700s are around 10" and the 800s are around 11.5" wide.HTP Invertig 201Lincoln Idealarc SP250Miller 180 AC StickBy farmall:They should have held the seagull closer to the work, squeezing evenly for best deposition.
Reply:So, are you running a 289 "Clevor?"  I've been a passenger on that track in a 69 Cougar set up for OT.  It is a fun roller coaster.  Rough cars have good soul.  Too nice and they lose their edge.  I like it the way it is.  Let us know if you do Buttonwillow.  I would come and watch.Tom

Reply:The older muscle cars look tough on a road coarse.  I love watching the old trans am races from the 60's and 70's when all the factories were competing.  It's just not the same today.Sweet build. Enjoy.
