Stick restarts

Just wondering any of u could give any advice on doing restarts. Doing a hot pass on a vertical stick weld with a 2.5mm 6013, and keep getting slag traps most of the time I do a restart and end up having to grind these bits out which is costing me time.

Reply:I'm at a training centre so we have to use 6013 for this, might spend a day doing hot passes keeping arc gap the same , I'm sure il get it right. Thanks for the advice
Reply:Yup restart above your stop and then start welding again.
