Hundreds of items. Started cleaning a few of the pieces and found items I'm not familiar with…(round items as shown below). Any input would be great, thx.
Reply:They look like an incert that clamps down on rod sizes. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:looks like a type of collet.
Reply:Tool sleeve for mounting in a tool holder with a specific bore diameter matching the outside bore of the coller. Think of a boring bar tool block with a 1 1/2" thru-hole and you only have a 3/4" boring bar...simple solution, mount the tool sleeve onto the boring bar and slide both into the tool block and lock 'em down. Guess you could also call it a tool collet, but most times I would think a collet would need an outside taper or drawbar end to snug down the sleeve so whatever tool wouldn't rattle out of the end.EDIT: BTW, I really like the idea of that serrated button on the end of those long strap clamps!Lincoln PrecisionTig 275Miller 251Miller DialArc 250Bridgeport millHossfeld bender & diesLogan shaperJet 14 X 40 latheSouth Bend 9" 'C'Hypertherm 900Ellis 3000 band saw21"Royersford ExcelsiorTwo shops, still too many tools.

Reply:The third picture is exactly what WyoRoy said. They are generally called toolholder bushings. They are ground concentric and designed to adapt drills, boring bars and other shank tools to a larger bore. You got your money's worth just in the bushings... if you need them. The strapping parts appear to be quality also... once again... a good deal.
Reply:Ha, heck I have them tool bushings, just not as much diameter difference so I couldn't place them exactly.
Reply:a little overpaid. im a machinist and i buy alot of tools. since nobody really knows what a machinist is these days, it leaves the tools laying around for cheap. always offer less, never pay asking price......
Reply:may have overpaid by flea market standards, but you still got a lot for for what you paid imho
Reply:Our I.D. tool sleeves at work cost about $100 each and that's a cheap offbrand.personally, I think you did alright.
