Anyone have any quick, down and dirty ways to bend a .125 alum sheet to a 45 at home? Its 92" wide.Maybe relief cuts, and re weld?A friend has a break, but it will only do 6' of .125. In your experience, if i was to cut reliefs into it, would it bend?

Reply:Most aluminum alloys will crack when bent. 3003 or 5052 normally bend good.Miller xmt304, Miller S22 p12, Miier Maxstar SD, Miller 252 w 30A, Miller super32p12, Lincoln Ranger 9, Thermal Arc 181I with spoolgun, Hypertherm 10000 ,Smith torches. Esab 161lts miniarc.
Reply:I did not even think of that. Dang. Its 6061.....
Reply:6061 will bend as well but likes a bigger radius and normally not a tight bend.
Reply:Anneal it with an acetylene flame. Black it with acet. Heat with a rosebud(at a distance) when the black goes away you can fold it like a towel.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
Reply:Do it in one shot. Bend it twice and all goes to sh!t. Aluminio is strange.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
