I bought a 10lb spool of my favorite wire (Hobart Bros HB-28) from ebay. It is an old spool and it has some rust on it and is causing some feeding issues with my Hobart 187. Is there anything that I can do to salvage this wire or should I toss it. I was thinking about trying one of these:http://store.cyberweld.com/weaidlulupa.htmlWould this help? Any other suggestions?
Reply:I use the wire wiper but I would toss any rusty wire. Its just going to trash your welds AND fill your liner with sh*t.Do as you wish.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:If its light rust, just unravel the top roll. Otherwise toss it out.-AlexSears/Craftsman 230A Buzzy BoxSears/Craftsman 180A Buzzy BoxChicago Electric 80A InverterALL STICK...ALL THE TIME!I spent a lot of time with the square peg and round hole.
