So I had a broken bit and now I have a third hand.Just figuring out how to post a pic.....and yea I had to cover up the original bead with two beads because I didn't realize how much heat I really needed to puddle up that tool steel. Reply:I don't know watchyamade, but the welds look good. 3 consistent passes. Both sides?Spill the rest, tungsten, filler......David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:So it's a third hand do-hickey for holdingstuff down to get a tack on it. Thanks but I've only shown the decent welds. The one underneath just laid rightup on top of the tool steel without a good bond. And the ones on the other side.... um, yea, well, you'll see.Ended up being dcen about 190 amps with 3/321.5% lanthanated, 3/32" filler, #7 cup, and trying not to burn through the 1/8" flat stock that I puton because it makes it makes it a little easier to put the work clamp on.Just using up scrap and trying things out. I really wanted to see how to post up a pic.So here's the ugly other side of it too... Attached ImagesHow do you know the blacksmith's dog? When you hollar at him he makes a bolt for the door!
