Pics tell all..I did not have anything small enough to hold the parts so I dug up a old air inlet fitting and used that.Once tacked it's all  positioner now..At least there are a couple of "Normal" sized rollers to make tomorrow..I get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:That reminds me of when I made my own hanger bolt that needed a standard lag screw on one side and a metric threaded machine screw on the other.I also brazed together a 1/4" hose barb on one side to a 3/8" hose barb on the other, to replace a weird cracking hose on my Wrangler.Sometimes you just need these weird parts.

Reply:The guy want to be safe. He's not sure if he's going to get nailed, or  be screwed. .No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:That reminds me of something I did late in the previous century when I worked at a tourist trap that had boardwalks throughout a rocky river gorge.  While there I brazed a US quarter to the head of a 20D spike, GW face up, pounded it through the deck in front of a resting bench, then crawled under the deck and bent the spike over 90° to secure it.It was there for years.  There was a steady flow of broken pocket knife blades appearing in the nearby trash bucket.  Member, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.

Reply:I wonder if you could have put the nail in a drill press chuck and spun it real hard into the screw? and let it stop.I'm sure that's a difficult to "nail down" process.

Reply:The Friction Stir Welding (FSR) process would not be feasible for this application. Trying to do this utilizing the FSR process would be a shot in the dark at best even if you have the machinery to mimick the process. With this one you want to use a process that is going to achieve a sure result because you only have one piece.... don't phuck it up! jrw159
