Bandsaw stand

I am working on a stand for my band saw. I have a HF band saw that I have had for several years. It has been a good little saw but I don't like the stock stand. Recently a friend that sells scrap came by on his way to the scrap yard. He had an old cart from a department store that he was going to scrap. I picked it up for $10. which is more than scrap price. Got 4 good 4" casters and 2 8" center casters. I reused the center casters by moving them to the end so I can move the saw around kind of like a wheel barrow. I built the frame out of 2x2x11ga. square tubing. The mount point for the saw is 1x1x11ga tubing. I have more to do to it just wanted to get a few photos up. I still have to make material supports on each end and some handles that pull out to help lift with to move it around. Make my mount pieces to bolt the saw down with. Just used some small tacks on the corners to hold in place for now.  Also a good coat of paint when done. Reply:Doesn't that suck when you work on something all day, post a pic, and not one person says a thing about it.Looks good but it looks like it takes up allot of room now.
Reply:Honestly just saw this.I'm a bit surprised to see you quarter turned the saw. Not what I would have expected. Most times people will set it up so the saw takes up the least amount of room for storage and have the material  supports either separate, or set up in such a way that they minimize the space when stored.I'll be interested to see this when completed..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:How much do you think it weighs out at???  Looks good and beefy,  I might have to steal oops I mean "borrow" your idea for a project.  I have a VERY small workspace. I think I might be able to put my drill press and bench grinder on a frame like yours so I can move them both in and out of my work area.  Look forward to seeing it all  "dolled up". Nice work
Reply:I built it that way so I could have some supports on each end. Not sure what the total weight is, just guessing about 200lbs maybe a little less. Its surprising what the saw alone weighs I bet its near 100 lbs. It is a little long but its easy to move around. I want to put some pull out handles to lift from the end. The wheels are resting on the ground so you only have to lift a few inches to roll it freely around the shop.Making as much progress as a one legged duck in the middle of a pond, just going in circles.
Reply:Maybe you can build the material supports to slide in and out of a reciever so you can save space when not in use. Thats one heavy duty stand.

Reply:Decided to change up a bit. The more I looked at the design of the saw stand the less I liked it. I needed the material for another project so I had to do something different. I repurposed a stand that was designed for a Delta Wood Jointer (which I dont have anymore). I went to the scrap yard this morning and picked up a 3 ft. x 6 ft sheet of 1/8 in steel plate. @ .30 per lb it was $44. 4ft x 8ft x 1/8 is $96 new. I put a top on the stand and moved the saw there. Right now it has 4 short welds holding it down. I want to make some tabs to hold it down.Making as much progress as a one legged duck in the middle of a pond, just going in circles.
