I have a Century Model 117-042 225 amp welder, was using today with no problem then it quit welding, gun works, fan on, checked ground connections, power supply but no luck, won't arc even to ground lead, opened covers and no loose wires....HELP.....
Reply:Check for voltage at the studs where you bolt the torch and ground near the drive assembly (with trigger pulled). If you get voltage there, then check at the gun and ground clamp end. If none, the gun cable could be bad, they break eventually from all the bending back and forth. Now, if there was no voltage at the studs, ignore the advice about the gun cable.Good luck Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday. |
