Reply:Go to your local lowes and buy these. Long process but well worth it Start with your angle grinder and a 4.5 finishing disc in ultra fine (not the fine shown in the picture) fiber back finishing disc. You will need a backing plate also to use them.Once that is done put on a polishing felt pad (white pad can be found right next to the finishing disc at lowes. Now add some #5 polishing paste to the pad and buff to a brilliant shine. ( the polishing paste is in the hand tool section also around the dremel tools I think.)Takes about an hour a keg and makes a hell of a mess green lint will be everywhere, do it outside if  possible not in your shop. Reply:EliotmayYour stuff looks great you took a bunch of time and made a very neat well thought out stand.I all grain brew so the single burner does not work for me I use all 3 burners at once. Brewing is a disease it grows and grows. I recently built a 4 tap beer tower for my kegerator so I can serve 4 differnt home brew beers at once. See it never stops thank goodness I weld or I would be broke Attached ImagesDonnelly Small Engine & WeldingFoley AlabamaLincoln 225 TigLinoln 215 migHypertherm Powermax 65Ellis 1600 sawEllis 6000 belt grinderJD2 Model 4 tubing benderAtlas  12"X54" metal latheLots of large hammers
Reply:My bro in law is about 18 mo into his brewing life. I am being asked to make a keggle fermenter. Reply:Sabco make the only one I know about.  https://brewmagic.com/products/ferme...agic-fermenterHere your welds will mean everything bacteria love welds. I dont know why you would want to use one except convenience.A glass carboy will ferment perfectly with no welds no metal, cleans with just a little OXYCLEAN let her soak for an hour rinse.Money and time would be better spent on a tempeture controlled fermination fridge. Good beer needs proper temp Ale's need 68 degrees steady. Find a used fridge on Craigs list or from a friend put a Johnson temp controller on it and you will make way better beer happy yeast make happy beer!!! Just my 2 cents Attached ImagesLast edited by worm122; 10-03-2012 at 08:19 PM.Donnelly Small Engine & WeldingFoley AlabamaLincoln 225 TigLinoln 215 migHypertherm Powermax 65Ellis 1600 sawEllis 6000 belt grinderJD2 Model 4 tubing benderAtlas  12"X54" metal latheLots of large hammers
Reply:Nice work. I've been brewing for almost 10 years now and finally got around to building my home brewery last summer. Partial gravity system with a custom built mash tun. Only thing that gets pumped is hot water so satination is less of a concern.
Reply:awesome! Its crazy because i was just looking into brutus 10. I wanna build one bad.www.performancealuminumfabrication.com

Reply:SteelMohawkI agree anything done on the cold side of brewing with welds is going to give you big problems especially a fermenter the beer will sit for several weeks in that vessel. way better and easier to go with glass.Donnelly Small Engine & WeldingFoley AlabamaLincoln 225 TigLinoln 215 migHypertherm Powermax 65Ellis 1600 sawEllis 6000 belt grinderJD2 Model 4 tubing benderAtlas  12"X54" metal latheLots of large hammers
Reply:I forwarded this thread to my bro in law. I can back purge no prob. I can also do some autologous backside welds, but I'm not sure I can compete with sanitary grade workSent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2Miller diversion 165Miller mig 211Hypertherm pm 30Milwaukee 6230 14 inch chop sawMd 45 mag drill (RIP; fell on its head)New MD 45!
