my ancient Bernard (K&K) MIG gun, from '86? what model is it?

this gun came with my (probable 1986 or 1987 vintage MIG). not at -all- sure the gun is 'from the same era' as the welder, or newer, or even of what model bernard mig gun this is. so I called bernard about this gun, and the (college-age sounding girl) that I spoke with gave me at least one wrong answer...and put me on hold while she went and asked someone else, so...is this old bernard gun a Q-200? or is it a Q-150, or maybe it's a Q-300, perhaps? or maybe it's not a "Q-anything" anyway and supposed to be called a bernard "E-Z feed" gun? the Q models all seem to have this -exact- same handle, with the tiny oval cutout on the side...[b] meanwhile, things I do know about this gun are:it *doesn't* use 'jump liners' (or whatever those super-short bernard liners are called)the outer sheath of the 'big hose' between the welder and the gun handle seems "flawless in all respects". no rips, tears, abrasions, punctures, no dried-out or cracking spots....the length of the thing, overall, is ten feet. it has a euro connectorthe neck is 'fixed' and doesn't swivel (at least, not without using a pipe wrench, which I haven't tried)it says "K&K" on the side of the handle. per this site, about halfway down, it 'kind of makes me think' K&K is 'part of' the bernard, and not simply a 'bernard clonemaker' (but I have no clue)it *does* use (what bernard calls) "eccentric tips". amongst other things, and I hope you guys can confirm or dispute this, she said is "IF your gun uses eccentric tips, it's NOT a centerfire gun". and "centerfire diffusers and eccentric tips are mutually excluding".my impression, so far, anyway, was that 'centerfire' referred only to the type of gas diffuser the gun had installed in it at THAT time...and, possibly, that -any- bernard gun 'could be' converted to centerfire by installing a centerfire diffuser.  one of the two diffusers I have (a bernard number 4235) "looks to me" to be a centerfire deal. but, then again, it uses 'eccentric' ended tips. so - I'm baffled by all this. she told me to look at the 'eccentric consumables' flow chart, to see which outer nozzles I could use, too. one nozzle she said I -can't- use the bernard flowchart says i CAN use...so [b]well, thanks for any light you guys can shed on this dave

Reply:I have two Bernard guns, one from 84 and the other is from about 92. They look like that at the nozzle but not the handle. I think that one is before my 84 gun as mine is more streamlined. My supplier is Bernard knowlegdeable so whn I need stuff I just ask for stuff and he gets what I need. You might try to find a shop that sells Bernard and ask them. They are very good and light guns.
Reply:Hey Dave,I dunno if you have any more info on the gun, but I think I got the same one with a lot of Miller Intelliwelds I bought. It is a water cooled gun similar to the Miller GW-55C from what I can tell. I haven't tried to use it yet and may end up trading it for some other welding stuff.
