built a rack for a quad.

So I had a guy at work want a rack built for his quad. He left me free to design as I wished. Within the following guidelines, must be: lighter, narrower, and higher. I asked him if it was cool that i use this project to practice TIG welding on, and its not my strongest process. his response, was you got my requirements you do as you wish from there. notice in the befor pics, of his previous setup. its just an SUV hitch mount rack. he used a 1.25 to 2 inch adapter from the Polaris receiver to attach this rack. It drags on everything by the looks of it. I asked about load capacity, and he said 5 gal of fuel and a small 6 pack cooler. i asked why his rack was bent. he said "i got it that way off craigslist." without further hold up here are the pics. Reply:the thing came in at aprox 2/3 the weight 10 inches narrower, and 20 inches higher. its mounted under the "bed" of the quad, as well as the factory reciever. the thing will hold my weight jumping on the thing. it should be plenty for his 5 gal of fuel and 6 pack cooler. Reply:i know my TIG welds are not that great, but given the warning and received approval, i went with it. its the only thing i wish i had not done. as my MIG welds look so much better. but how am i going to get better if i don't do it. Reply:The rack looks very nice, I like the way it sits up higher as well as the all around construction of the build, much more practical.What ga tubing is being used? looks like maybe 14-16ga?? also what type of filler wire did you use?-Bill
Reply:It's 16ga and was done with 1/16 ER70s6Thanks for the compliments. I was really happy with the outcome. I will be starting on the front bumper this afternoon.
