I've got 3 of these metal storage units. They are lightweight, but pretty sturdy. Horizontal dimensions are 24x48. I think they are 30-32" high. Which will be raised a few inches when I add casters.I'm thinking of using 1 as a welding table and getting a 1/2" 32x56 plate of A36 (?) and tacking it down with a few short weld runs to the top of the storage unit, that way I would have 4" overhang all the way around. There are two sliding doors on one side, that I could open to provide an opening for knees when sitting. Sound reasonable? Attached ImagesESAB Heliarc 252
Reply:hell ya!Make 2, & Ebay the 1st one. (the 2nd is always nicer)Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:I would probably drill & countersink some bolts Vs, welding it on myself. It'll be flippable once it crowns a bit from the heat.Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:as long as you don't like hammering on your table you should be good. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger |
