Customer stopped by today for a quick welding job. Before I got my monkey paws on the piece, there were two mig welds that had broken. I re-used the .75" inner tube after I cut the welds off, and supplied a new piece of 1" outer tube (both are .120 wall). Ended up using the tig welder. I think the customer will be happy. Its for his RV..065 filler, 3/32 2% tungsten, 120ish amps. Reply:Looks good..Iam sure the customer will be happy! You know in my days of work I have found that when it comes to any RV.repair 4wheelers,play toys ect..the customer usually never bulks at the price compared to a part on a machine they make money with??hmmm anyway just my thought for the day
Reply:What's the piece for? Some kind of rack or awning?I TIG welded a bicycle spoke to the head of a nail once. You pretty much get the arc going and then you're done. It was a test for a method to hang a part for powder coating that had no holes or other means of hanging it. I just used the nail cause I had a bunch of reclaimed ones on the shelf nearby.
Reply:When the customer picked up the part, he told me it was part of the assembly for the slide out part of the RV.AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup |
