Reply:Mid Feb., I priced S-6 wire from Praxair. 12lb .035 - $21.3612lb .045 - $20.76Both were Praxair wires which I was told was Lincoln. I never had a problem with it. Try your LWS."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:I don't know what size wire you're looking for. But I was just doing some looking around for reasonably-priced solid (non-flux) wire myself. I have a Lincoln MIG. I saw that Lowes sells a 12.5 lb spool of Lincoln L-56 0.035" (ER70S-6 ) for $25, and 0.025 for $30. I'm not sure if these are stocked in-store. But you can buy it online, and have it shipped to a Lowes near you, for free. I don't know about the other options that people have mentioned. I have not yet called my LWS to see what they have. I have an Airgas near me; is Radnor wire good? |
