Reply:Nice job! The old Migmatics seem better built than the new mig welders, although they are still as gutsy! Thanks for sharing the project with us, often shows old machines can still kick it!!

Reply:Nice job man ! it really pays to fix up those old machines i 'll bet if you put that on CL you would have people fighting over it . i restored a 1989 MM35 that was almost as ruff as yours and used it for about 6 yrs. and sold it for what i bought it for  and had many calls on it . i had 2 guys call 2or 3 times to make sure the guy i sold it to came and picked it up . so it definitely pays to restore em ! again nice job ,and YES we do care this is why we all spend so much time on here ! lol.. chris

Reply:Hey, if you used off-the-shelf rattle cans what exact paint did you use? The old Zynolyte had a blue that almost perfectly matches Miller blue of that era, but I don't know what to get today. Not a painter, don't own a spray gun setup ..

Reply:I believe it's an '83.  It is a beast. The fan on demand almost never comes on.  The drive system is a 2 roller.  I put a Bernard Q300 gun on it.  Hasn't missed a beat since I cleaned up the CR1.  The paint was custom mixed PPG single stage urethane.  I brought the side cover to the paint shop with me.  They have a new lower priced line.  The paint, reducer and hardener were $50 and I have extra.  Best of all was the price.  I got it with a working Spoolmatic 1 for $299.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:Nice machine. If you ever want to use a larger cylinder those work just fine run with a long hose on a quick disconnect from a cylinder cart. I don't really like pushing a machine with a large cylinder on it (old age, bad back), so I don't.
Reply:I think those dual cylinder racks are too wide. It makes the rear of the machine too wide to fit through small areas.
