yes im a newbie to tig.  Yesterday I was messing was makeing a small ornamental piece for a friend and had some copperish colored contamination pop up in a few welds.  I reground the tungston double checked gas and amperage settings re cleaned everything and began welding again.   After a few minutes it popped back up.  Another strange thing that happened was on a thin piece the aluminum wrinkle shrunk and desintegrated.   I was using theiroited tungsten pure argon and an eastwood tig.I would like to know what this contamination was and how to fix it.Thank you,Greg
Reply:I would start by checking for a gas leak.  Your flow may be fine, but you can be drawing in air somewhere.
Reply:Take a picture of the contamination, and post it.
