Hello Folks!   I've been checking out this site for about a week and finally decided to join.  I saw some other pictures of welding trailer rigs and decided to post one I finished a few weeks ago....hope you enjoy! On the bottle rack we have argon, 75/25, oxygen and actylene......in the tool boxes....all sorts of assorted tools, milwaukee chop saw, victor journeyman gauges, dewalt sawzall, cordless drills, and hammer drill.....100' cables...ranger 305g.....trailer measures 5'x10' without the tongue...I needed something really compact...but double axle to distribute the weight.....it pulls very nicely! trailer empty weighs a tad under 1500 lbs....I welcome all input....so fire away!!!   Attached Images
Reply:Your welder don't match the trailer wrong color.Looks like a real nice setup.Miller Dailarc HF 250 Hobart 140
Reply:Cool trailer. I was expecting a Miller welder. The Lincoln really threw me off for sure.
Reply:very nice design.
Reply:Nice and clean looking.I agree, should be red. Welcome to the board."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Want.Looks ideal to me. Very nice.
Reply:Looks good. A couple suggestions though, I would build dome thing to have the leads inside a box or something, not out in the weather and where some one could steal them easier.A material rack would be a must have as well.
Reply:Sharp looking rig.  I like the bottle racks...look sturdy and secure.  BTW, do you have a lock on that receiver hitch for your vise??
Reply:Thank you very much for the positive input! As for the color on the trailer....I was super close on buying an efi bobcat 250...even painted the trailer for it....but I saw the price difference from the efi to the 305g....and said might as well upgrade.....after we scratch it up I'll repaint it red and black next year...Bob- I'll look into the material rack and that cage for the cable....I like the concept....we store it indoors in one of our booths...but would hate to see anything walk away while parked at a restaurant....Shortfuse- thanks on that bottle rack comment!   Took a while to figure out...but works great!   And your right on that vise.....it slides out to 12', 18", and 24" out, and does have a lock on the reciever hitch...I even tacked the bolted of the vise down!
Reply:Welcome to the site, great job on the trailer. If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
Reply:Looks great!
Reply:I think it's a great looking trailer, bottle rack, tool box, vise all of it.However I do believe you are tounge heavy.  Bad thing about it is that you will wear out the front axle bearings/brakes alot quicker then the rear.  Otherwise it is awsome.

Reply:You might want to turn that flipper around to the other direction on the exhaust stack as when you travel it will act as a rain scoop.  Just my thought.  Best   Bob
Reply:Originally Posted by BoostinjdmNot with leafs and balance bars.  They share the weight. What you said would be true on my trailers because I use torsion axles.  I have to watch how I load 'em.
Reply:Nice, I like the color too. Enjoyed comments about the BLUE .    I figured MILLER too. Oh well, we all make mistakes. Kidding.     When you are asked about the Lincoln you can say someone stole the Miller so you got a red one.
Reply:Real nice trailer.  Good compact design, easy to tow, most everything at your finger tips.I like the angle across the back, keeps lengths of pipe or other similar material from just rolling off onto you shins.I agree with the suggestion to cage the cable reels..How heavy is it loaded, do you figure?  < 3k lbs?- MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:I didn't see any holders for the fishing poles...Very nice design
Reply:do you notice any ill effects of teh welder being to one side?  seems it would be better disributed, weight wise, in teh middle.
Reply:very nice trailor design, good job
Reply:I love it. It is a great statement of your design ideas potential customers will be drawn in.Dave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:Thanks for the compliments guys! I really appreciate it!  shortfuse: I took a better pic of that vise and the locking pin on it....I also welded a nut and bolt to take out some of that play on the receiver.....works great! Attached Images
Reply:RHunt-  I wanted to turn that flipper (rain cap) around but it hits the access door of the welder.....It doesn't open up yet on the road....but I will keep an eye on it....you good a point though.... Attached Images
Reply:Minner - That is correct...When I bought the axles the guy at the shop told me I really shouldn't go under 12' in length.....I went ahead to 10' in length and am taking a chance and waiting to see what happens.....so far so good....we only run 10 -15 miles a week on it....so it'll be a while before we see what happens....will keep posted....BD1 - I will get some mileage on that excuse!!  Thanks!  Mondo- The trailer empty was about 1476 lbs.....the welder under 600 lbs....Id say another 300 on those bottles.....and tool boxes.....maybe 200.....under 3,000 lbs for sure....no problem for those axles....Hobart-  as of now...I haven't noticed any drifting or leaning on the trailer due to the placement of the machine......so far so good.....And a1998z3 as for rod holders.....I put a rack (like a rod rack!)  in the inside of the toolbox to hold hammers, pipe wrenches, and screwdrivers...I know its not a good picture...but should be visable....u almost got me though!   Again ....many thanks for the compliments....I really appreciate it......If any questions....I will try my best to answer.  Thanks again!
