Reply:Looks sweet dude.I love the polished industrial look
Reply:Looks really nice. I like furniture which supports your house in case of an earthquake... ;-)
Reply:Nice. What have you got under the bookshelf? I see them in some picts, but not in the one where it's on the wooden platform cart. Are they the actual feet, or are they simply supports for shop work?.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Nice! Can we see the feet on the cabinet up close? Also what about finish? Are these getting a powder coat or just going au natural? Also, what is the finish on the desk top?Is the desk foldable?Sorry so many ???s but I like the neo industrial look furniture so my brain is a sponge for this stuff, I get inspiration from it! Also, have you considered som solid rivets just for an accent? Thanks for sharing jimmy pop!Miller diversion 165Miller mig 211Hypertherm pm 30Milwaukee 6230 14 inch chop sawMd 45 mag drill (RIP; fell on its head)New MD 45! Reply:the feet look like heim joints with flat pads made to me. Clever idea if so allows for height adjustment and swivel

Reply:Thanks guys.the photo of the book shelf sitting on the dolly is one of the only shots of the backside of the cabinet to show the sheetmetal. At the time of that photo, I was washing the metal with Dawn soap, scotchbrite and 1500 grit sandpaper. The final product is gloss clear coated. I dont ship anything raw metal. The other photos of the cabinet show it after powdercoating with the adjustable feet installed. Its going on an uneven concrete floor and these feet allow the cabinet to adjust level and not rock unstable. Heim joints, and laser cut 3/8 plate steel arches and 1/2" base. DOM spacers and socket cap Grade8 hardware. The finish on the desktop is automotive clear coat shot in a paint booth the color sanded and polished/waxed. Powder is great for frames cause it does not run but the auto clear polishes out smooth as glass. Powder coating can be trashy on flat surfaces. The desk does not break down. Ive made removable legs before for shipping but since i was shipping the desk piggy-back style on the cabinet, I just welded the legs to the subframe.I like exposed hot rivets. But I hate most anything faux. Since i dont have the space, equipment or experience to install a true hot rivet, I'll skip that for now. Maybe someday when i have my own shop with space.Last edited by Jimmy_pop; 11-15-2012 at 12:04 PM.
