hey theirI have a ranger 250 gxt engine drive and am having problems tig welding. I have no expierience welding with tig but through research I have learned a little (not nearly enough tho). Im using argon with 3/32 tungesten wth 3/8 tip. The problem im having is I have the arc going for about ten seconds then the tungesten balls up in the end and goes into the tip. I feel like im burning threw electrodes super fast. Im starting the argon buy hand (dial on torch) 10-15 seconds before and after weld.I am running at about 80-110 dc neg and on just little scraps of steel. Is the steel or tungesten possibly conaminated? any tips or in depth manuals would be greatly appreciatedThank you

Reply:When the tungsten burns back into the tip, that is reverse polarity (Electrode +) Your machine could be marked wrong. Switch the cables. JGSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. : |
