Reply:Cool bending but a BBQ tongs or spatula would seem a better option IMHO...Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. For Sale: Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun. Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:Spatula would simply be the same as your hook only weld or rivet a flat sheet to the end. Tongs are a bit more involved, but tongs are a traditional tool for forge work and aren't that hard once you get the hang of it. Thin "wire" tongs like for hot dogs are a bit easier to make than traditional forge tongs. Simply buy a store bought set and look at how they are made. The two sides are identical. Just make the 2nd one match your 1st and you are all set.As far as a propane forge, there's a lot of good info on the web that will help you build your own burner. Search "Reil Burner" or home made propane forge, and you will find a bunch of info. I made mine using a stack of fire bricks and had decent results after I got a big enough propane reg. I also made a coal forge that was very simple to make as well..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear.
