I started as a welders helper a month ago, I have heard terms like land, wagon tracks, blue line and my favorite the two hole pins. Those I have learned and figured out. Anyone care to share a term used with an explanation as to what it is or does.
Reply:Too vague of a question what are you helping with. Pipe I assume ??Thermal arc 211iCk flex-loc 150 & 130Clamps, saws & grindersHarbor freight 80 amp inverter
Reply:Pipe welding for the natural gas here in PA, I don't work out on the pipelines. We put together the above ground stuff.
Reply:Centering head - finds top side or anywhere else on pipe you might need. For example if your flange is two-holed and a weld-o-let comes off at a 45* angle you can use a centering head to get a punch mark at 45* in the center of where your hole needs to be cut.
Reply:I could tell you almost everything about pipe welding but it would take too long. One question for you what is a blue line?
Reply:Blue line , i was told that's when a tack is ground down (at the start and stop) so thin it will turn blue. |
