So i would like build a simple circle cutting jig for my oxy/ace  torch. And I'm not sure where to start. I looked at them before on the internet and they are very pricey. So here is what i was thinking. A nut to fit snug at the cutting head welded to round rod or flat stock. Then a few holes drilled every few inch's then sharped a bolt so it will stay in place or maybe a magnet. Any help or info on this would be very great. Reply:Something like that, all depends on what's in your junk drawer. It's nice too if the tip can turn smoothly within the end's eye.A search should bring up bunches of 'em that had been posted here previously.Good Luck
Reply:Make something that thumbscrews to your torch tubes so you can loosen and slide up and down easily, with a fixed point on the bottom, centerpunch and your off.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Google "trammel points" or "beam compass" and look at the pictures.
Reply:I never liked the circle cutters they make for oxy/ace. My best method was taught to me in trade school that involves getting in the proper position before making a cut. Use your forearm as a pivot point and practice, practice, practice.6"XX P5P8 6G

Reply:This is from one of my pipe bevelers. I just drilled a 1/4" hole and bent a few 1/4" rods for different sized holes. Perfect for doing weld-o-lets......Last edited by Huckxc; 05-18-2012 at 09:43 AM.Classic 1D 200SAE 30086 SA 200Hyperthem 45Jancy Mag Force O/A Victor-GossCable's remote2-12" Mathey Dearman bevelersLN 25Miller Auto Set 211Wendy's Pancake/Jackson PipelinerNew Holland LS 180Great story man....tell it again!

Reply:Here's some pics of the one I made and use all the time, works flawless, very simple, and easy to make. I made a little project out of it just to kill time, but could be made even simpler  Attached ImagesI hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Reply:Here is one I built years ago. The table rotates. Place the plate in the middle of the table, and you can burn really accurate holes. Attached ImagesDon’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:Wow, great thread. Some nice jigs.
Reply:Tozzi, I have one of those straight headed torches. Hard to come by for cheap. I do perfer a barrel torch since I have a few laying around. Once a person uses these types of straight/barrel torches for cutting holes, they will never use their right angle torch again.Classic 1D 200SAE 30086 SA 200Hyperthem 45Jancy Mag Force O/A Victor-GossCable's remote2-12" Mathey Dearman bevelersLN 25Miller Auto Set 211Wendy's Pancake/Jackson PipelinerNew Holland LS 180Great story man....tell it again!
