Been searching for some decently priced TIG welders here lately, and have drawn a close eye to the Power I-TIG 200 and also the Power I-TIG 200T by Everlast. I've never used the brand, but have heard lots of great news and comments toward Everlast. Just wanting to hear anyone elses input and hopefully some specifically on the I-TIG 200. Thanks!Last edited by CatfishM3; 05-10-2014 at 02:55 PM.Trash talk stops when the hood dropsDon't cry because it's over, smile because it happened
Reply:It may pay to do an archive search here on the Everlast business model. Hopefully, Everlast hasn't been up to their usual heavy handed use of the 'delete' button when if came time to read over the posts. Pay a bit more heed to what has been posted in the general forum area about Everlast instead of taking the Everlast forum postings at face value...they do pay for the privilege of having their own forum area and maybe, just maybe, get a bit too liberal about what is left up to read and what isn't.Lincoln PrecisionTig 275Miller 251Miller DialArc 250Bridgeport millHossfeld bender & diesLogan shaperJet 14 X 40 latheSouth Bend 9" 'C'Hypertherm 900Ellis 3000 band saw21"Royersford ExcelsiorTwo shops, still too many tools.

Reply:I don't have the power tig so I can't comment on it but so far my experience with everlast has been great. I had heard some negative things about everlast prior to ordering but for me I took a chance and its worked out well. I had an extremely limited budget and had no luck securing a comparable used welder on craigslist. It was either buy an everlast, harbor freight, or used welder or not weld at all for me. I chose to weld. It may not be blue or red but it welds pretty darn good for me.
Reply:Oh Christ here we go...Tic Tic Tic Tic..........zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Catfish, welcome to the forum. I see that you are fairly new here so i will give you the lowdown on the perception of Everlast here or another "chinese" brand. If it aint blue or red, they don't seem to like them. Granted most people have never owned an everlast either. I have had my Itig 200 for about 6 months now. it has performed flawlessly for me and my needs. The customer service is great. I have ordered a few accessories for the machine and when I sent emails to them they responded in a timely manner with good answers. The fit and finish of the machine is great. There are some little annoyances, like when the pedal is plugged in I can not see the amperage used, but that does not matter if you can read the puddle. I have practiced some 5g, Stick welding and it worked no different than the lincoln, miller, or thermal arcs we have at school. Although i will say, i love our thermal arcs and would consider one of those too. My main point is that most people on here have probably never used or seen one and will bash just because they seen something on the world wide web. If you come to the DFW area, please contact me and you can run some beads on this machine. and that goes for anyone reading this. Now if you really want to start a s*&^storm, tell these guys your first project is a trailer. |
