cutting mild steel tubing

Ok, so I'm getting tired of making cuts on my pos chop saw.  What is the preferred tool for cutting round tubing?I usually use 1.88" dia. round tubing in either .120 or .134 wall.  The chop saw sucks. Thanks
Reply:Bandsaw, sawzall, hacksaw(we'll see how much you hate that chopsaw after a few cuts with a hacksaw), cutoff wheel on a small grinder, OA torch (heh, spend more time lightin it than cuttin), power hacksaw, jigsaw with metal cutting blade, circular saw with metal cutting blade, dremel tool, 50 ton hydraulic shear, water jet, slot cutter and a rotary table.. What about your chopsaw dont you like? Noise? True cuts? dust piles? Bad vise? Slow cuts? Deformation? Burrs?

Reply:Thanks guys.  I'm just sick of how long it takes to cut it, all the mess and the noise drives everyone around me crazy.  I don't have a bandsaw except for the wood band saw, which I think only goes down to 800, but I may have to try that.  Maybe I just need to spend some more bucks and at least get the portable band saw.

Reply:hey JunkIt might not be as accurate as somthin with a vice,but i prob use a porta-band twice as much as anything else to cut with. One of the best $300 ive spent.Shane
Reply:I use the chop saw for cutting tubing always, except for the larger tubing such as 4 x 4 x1/4" wall and up. But for cutting 1/8" wall tubing the chop saw works great. Yet to cut down on noise and such then go with the horizontal saw, it'll work fine.J P Streets Welding LLC
Reply:By portaband, you guys mean those portable band saws (the handheld ones with no base) like Porter Cable and others make?  That would be cool, I've seen cheapos for like $100.Thanks
