I got a new victor cutting torch, and after a few times using it, the cutting lever does nothing. it fires up normal but when i go to cut it doesn't blow out more oxygen. Is there a valve inside that can be repaired or adjusted?
Reply:My question is are you using a cutting head attached to a welding handle? If so make sure you have the oxygen valve on the handle all the way open. Adjust the oxygen with the valve on the head.
Reply:Yeah, it just happened recently before that it cut great. The lever feels real slow and spongey
Reply:what outfit or torch body did you get, got a model number?Have you tested it without a tip on?
Reply:u ain't got a oxy line kinked do ya,just a thought
Reply:Either the center hole in the tip is plugged, you don't have the oxygen valve on the handle fully open, your regulator pressure is set too low, your oxygen tank is almost empth or you have a defective torch.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:Well I got a chance to look at it in the day light, and the goons that were using it clogged the center hole solid. I couldn't get it out with the tip cleaner so I had to buy a new tip. Now I have to keep my torch head locked in a tool box. Anything not locked up on a job site will get used by everybody and eventually stolen. So far I'm missing a couple shovels, 6ft pry bar, and some hand tools. I went out and bought a Jobox to keep everything in.
Reply:shoulda bought a straight torch
