weldanpower 225 armature to slip ring wireing

i loaned Lincoln 225 weldanpower to neighbor for some reason he was going to clean slip rings. He pulled some of wires out of slip rings with paint paddle and sandpaper. It still has gen voltage ,but will not weld. I guess exciter wire  loose.  Where does it attach to armature and does it connect to ring close to motor

Reply:thanks it sure looks rough now. It was fine few days ago. Looked like small wire size of say #25 wire was loose

Reply:I will get deeper into it tomorrow. the reason I asked about slip ring wireing he made mess of that area. he thought it was dust and dirt.i do have gen power . no arc at all. thought maybe pulled exciter wire loose. he also cleaned wireing print .when I get this one enlarged.maybe ican make sence of all this. Sure has been a trouble free machine till now.Thanks for the help. Sure I ll need a lot more.
Reply:ok some butcher string, cloth tape and epoxy got that mess fixed . Still no welding power will start on that maybe tonight. Don t see anything smoked ,said was welding fine , stopped for lunch ,would not weld. hope nothing bad.
