Reply:Please keep this post updated as you go. Love the old Henry J's. I was helping a buddy years ago with a 51 Henry J. He sold it before he got to far into it but I really got into the lines and style of these old cars.Making as much progress as a one legged duck in the middle of a pond, just going in circles.
Reply:Will be looking forward to updates on this one, what a gem. Would like to see more pics on the chassis. Keep'm comingGeezerPower Mig 255C185 TIGBlue 175 MIGRanger 8 Kohler 20HP1974 5K Lincoln/Wisconsin Powered (Cherry)Victor/Harris O/AK 487 Spool Gun

Reply:Will do...thanks for the kind words. My goal is fear at the eighth...lol...If the car isn't solidly in the low nines, I'm going to be real upset.
Reply:If you are going to be running the 1/8th mile then low 9s is easily obtainable. I had a 78 Ford truck with a 460 that ran 8.50s-8.60s. That was over 4000 lbs of barn door going down the track. That HJ should be considerably lighter.Making as much progress as a one legged duck in the middle of a pond, just going in circles.

Reply:Yet another car named for a person that didn't sell well (also see: Edsel). Henry J for Henry J. Kaiser of the Kaiser-Frazer company. One of my uncles had one in the day. Sears also sold them re-badged as the Allstate automobile.Don't you just love all the non-welding trivia that gets tied in to a little bit of welding? ;-)John
